Robin Hood and Maid Marion Monument in Edwinstowe High Street
Robin Hood and Maid Marion The legend of Robin Hood tells how he was forced to leave his home and his inheritance and take to the Sherwood Forest to defend the poor and downtrodden against corrupt and greedy landlords.

His childhood sweetheart, Maid Marion, chose to join him in his fight against injustice and they were married in the ancient church of St Mary in Edwinstowe. Today, the legend of Robin Hood and Maid Marion is commemorated by this bronze statue of the couple in Edwinstowe High Street.
