1. Application No: 18/01741/FUL
Applicant: Thoresby Settlement
Proposal: Change of use from agricultural field to camping and caravan site
Address: Part of Naishs Field, Swinecote Road, Edwinstowe, Notts
Concerns were raised regarding where the pitches will be located, that if planning permission granted the site will expand in due course, where toilets/washing facilities/septic tank etc will be located, supervision of the site, and the installation of a gate at the field.
After discussion, Parish Councillors agreed that visitors to the village are welcome to stay as it helps local businesses but did not think this is the most appropriate location for a camping/caravan site as it is next to a residential area and a car park. All agreed that there was insufficient information in the plans and further details are required. There are numerous camping/caravan sites nearby.
EPC DECISION: Object to Proposal. There is insufficient detail/information in the plans, more is required. The location of the camping/caravan site is not appropriate as it is next to a residential area and a car park. Unanimous.
2. Application No: 18/01835/FUL
Applicant: Sherwood Forest/RSPB
Proposal: An ice cream kiosk from our supplier Walls Ice Cream on site to sell ice cream from. It is a free-standing building that is 3m x 3m. This unit has already been erected as a temporary measure but we would like to make it permanent.
Address: Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Forest Corner, Edwinstowe, Notts
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: None
Councillors discussed the possible impact the kiosk may have on the Craft Centre businesses. Concerns were raised that the kiosk was inappropriate to be permanent in the context of buildings nearby, and a wooden type kiosk would be more in keeping with the new Visitor Centre building
EPC DECISION: Object to Proposal. The kiosk is inappropriate to be permanent in context of other buildings nearby. A wooden type kiosk would be more in keeping with the Visitor Centre building. Unanimous.
