08/149 CHAIRPERSON’S ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Chair announced the Parish Council Office commencing Monday 2nd February 2009 will open from 9am until 4pm Monday – Thursday, closed to the public on Friday, this will accommodate Sarah Coltart’s new working hours.

08/151 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

1. Christmas Event 2008
This was hailed a huge success by the Chair, but was tinged with sadness due to the vandalism of the Christmas lights outside the Co-op. The culprits had been captured on CCTV and this information has been passed on to the Police.

2. Date for Extravaganza
Cllrs Ward and Milne have organised two events on the evenings of 10th and 18th July. It was agreed unanimously that the Extravaganza will take place between those dates. Alice and Sarah will organise the road closure for the daytime event during that week. Cllr J Sansom has volunteered to organise a flower festival. Assistance will be given to all events when requested

3. Edwinstowe Pre-School Playgroup Garden Lease
This was deferred to Public Participation/Question Time

08/153 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION/QUESTION TIME ----- (10 MINUTES)

Diane Berry and Angela Umphrey from Edwinstowe Pre-School Playgroup confirmed that they were still NOT in receipt of the lease for the garden and are very concerned that part of the funding will be withdrawn if not spent by March 2009. They have requested a minuted resolution from the Parish Council that the work can proceed whilst the lease is being finalised. See Resolution 08/163

08/154 MEMBERS QUESTION TIME ----- (10 MINUTES)

Cllr A Sansom expressed concerns with regards to the recent vandalism at Edwinstowe Cricket Club’s Pavillion. At present there is no CCTV or security lighting making it a target for vandals. Cllr Benson informed the Council that N&SDC have a mobile CCTV camera that could be utilised, the contact is Ian Harrison. Cllr Ward commented that it was not the Parish Council’s responsibility, but will support if the Cricket Club request.

Edwinstowe Pre School Playgroup Garden Lease
Cllr Bird read amendments to the draft lease stating that;

‘The Parish Council will give 21 years use of electricity from the date of the lease to connect into the electric supply servicing the lessors premises known as Village Hall and Edwinstowe Parish Council for CCTV purposes only and to lay an electric cable from the lessors said premises to their demised land and to pass electricity there through contributing a fair proportion of the charges to the lessors of the electricity consumed, together to take water by manual means for the upkeep of the garden from the lessors supply adjoining said premises.’

And;

‘The personal liability of the lessee’s shall be limited to the assets of the Charity unless due to the negligence of wilful act, or default of the lessee’s’ – These amendments were agreed unanimously.
