The Sherwood Forest Tractor Club
Annual Ploughing Match

This year was the 8th Annual Ploughing Match held by The Sherwood Forest Tractor Club.

198 competitors from as far away at Launceston in Cornwall to Dumfries in Scotland competed in 10 ploughing classes. One competitor James East travelled from Lincolnshire by tractor!

The youngest competitor was Emma Davenport (14) who won her class and the oldest was J A Clark (82) who came second in his class.

All funds raised will go to the Air Ambulance – details of what was raised to follow.

On 3rd and 4th January 2009, there will be a Ploughing School run by Brian Curtis from Scarcliffe. Eight of the top ploughmen in the country will be giving demonstrations and instruction on ploughing techniques. The event will take place on the A616 Budby to Cuckney road and will start at 10.00 a.m
